Springy crashing every couple of minutes

Are you aware that Springy crashes incessently?
Mac OS X 10.5.8, Mac Quad PPC 2.5GHz 4GB RAM.
Okay, I’ll use more information you provided in you e-mail message:
Not sure if you’re aware that Springy crashes every few minutes, less if you don’t use it. Hoped this info might help.
It seems to be related to making the icon preview, which I don’t need. I’d certainly drop the feature if it meant Springy could be used stably.
thanks,

Some other users also experience similar behaviour, but only when Springy tries to show a preview of a particular file. They,ve never sent me problematic files so I’ve never been able to reproduce it. If you can send me one of the archives which crashes Springy on icon preview generation, I’d be very grateful.
Some people were asking for this feature, so I added it in the version 1.5. It’s also undergone some improvements and bug fixing through versions 1.5.1 – 1.5.6. But, for some people it’s still problematic.
Anyway, you can easily disable this and show normal file type icons. With window open (in any view type), just choose View > Show View Options from the main menu, or just press cmnd+j. This will show view preferences. Then, uncheck Show icon preview checkbox and from then on only standard file type icons will be shown.
Please note that the Show icon preview is settable per view type, so in order to completely disable icon preview, you’ll need to do it for each view type. So, with view preferences window already open, just change view type and the preferences window will change its contents automatically, showing options for the current view type. Uncheck Show icon preview for that particular view type.
Also note that view preferences settings for “column view” are global, so they are immediately stored in your preferences file. With “icon view”, “list view” and “search view”, these settings are valid only for that particular open window. If you want to store them in the preferences (so the icon previews are not shown when you open another window in that same view), click Use As Defaults button in the preferences window.
With all these settings, I tried to mimic Finder behaviour.
I hope this helps, let me know whether it works okay for you.
that worked wonderfully, thank you!
now, if we could only control Springy from the command line ;)
happy thanksgiving!
